Grandpa and the Tau Sar Piah that started my baking journey ...
I remember fondly the past, when I was a little girl and my family would travel two to three times a year from Singapore to Kluang (Malaysia) to visit my maternal grandpa. My grandpa really doted on us and would always go out of the way to buy Kluang's famous red bean tau sar piah (in my opinion) and put them in the guest room for us, whenever we came to visit.
I guessed that's the period that I started to love snacks and desserts. Maybe it's the endorphins talking, but I was pretty amazed how a simple snack/dessert can put me in such a good mood every time.
Grandpa ignited my interest for snacks and desserts and it wasn't long before I started making some desserts on my own. My family was not well-to-do back then and so we couldn't afford an oven. But that didn't stop me, so I started creating non-baked desserts like tiramisu and oreo cheesecake with my sister for family and friends.
My baking journey truly began when my generous ex-boss gifted an oven to me for my farewell gift. Not long after I got married to my #1 fan/guinea pig/ husband Ryan (now you know how 'Pastries by Ashley Ryan' on my logo is derived..haha), juggling my baking passion with my career in Human Resources. I took the proverbial leap of faith in 2014 to start Cheese Haus with the intention to bring the same joy to others through my creations. And the rest as you know it, is history :D

Cheese Haus is an online Patisserie home-based concept (Singapore), bringing you Tea Break Sweet Treats and Desert Gifting to sweeten your joyful celebrations, Parties & Special Occasions.
Our Creations are both Vegetarians and Muslim friendly that do not contain rennet, gelatin, meat products nor alcohol simply because I want my friends to enjoy my bakes too.

Cheese Haus started with New York Cheesecake flavours and slowly introduced more yummy bite-sized desserts to cater to your office & private events needs. For e.g. we now have Japanese Cheesecake, Brownie, Macarons, Cupcakes, Konjac Jellies, Tarts and Cookies.
Menu is changed according to festive seasons and demand.
On Cheese Haus’s 6th Year Anniversary and we thought it is timely to do a brand refresh to reflect the new position and forward plans of the bakery.
